Physical therapy is a type of treatment performed to relieve pain and to promote and restore mobility and function. To do this, a physical therapist will address the body systems, including the skeletal system, muscular system, circulatory system, digestive system, nervous system, endocrine system, integumentary system, lymphatic system, excretory (renal and urinary) system, and reproductive system. Many believe physical therapy is thought to be specialized to one specific problem area, however it can and should be used as a whole body approach. Most of us tend to develop structural misalignment from poor posture, repetitive motions, and uneven strengths and weaknesses throughout the body.
At Revive Health & Wellness, the treatment approach is composed of repairing the primary problem (pain, weakness, poor balance, etc.), and also restoring function, mobility, and ability to the rest of the body, where the primary problem may be stemming from, or may be affected by. Treatments are individualized per patient and can be composed of some or all of these modalities: manual therapy, exercise/strengthening, stretching, neuromuscular re-education, myofascial release, cupping, balance training, gait training, breathing techniques, and patient/caregiver education.
